This is where the minds eye with reality meets. These shapes have been suggested to me thousands of times in nature and in art. The challenge
and thrill from concept to being is basically what I live for. On a twenty foot long log and on this scale the wood has a great deal to say about what
the tool is going to do. This is still far from finished and symmetrical but illustrates well the course of design. I always remain flexible and never give
in to the pencil line because that involves preconceptions of what art is. It is all vague until that split second moment of knowing the work is done.
